Palomar College participates in the Great California ShakeOut every year in October. The college holds a morning and evening drill the day of the Great California ShakeOut.
Palomar College's 2022 Great California ShakeOut Earthquake Drills will take place on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10:20 a.m. and 6:20p.m. The entire District, including the San Marcos campus, Escondido Education Center, North Education Center, and South Education Center, will participate in the drills this year. During the drill, information and directions will be delivered in a 60-second message broadcast through the Palomar College Emergency Notification System to all phones and other emergency notification channels in the Palomar Community College District. Everyone in classrooms, offices and facilities will be instructed to follow the proper steps to ensure a safe and prompt protection strategy.
