The Palomar College Police Department (PCPD) is responsible for providing police services for the San Marcos Campus and the Escondido Educational Center.  PCPD has complete police authority, pursuant to California Police Officers under the authority of Penal Code section 830.32. Our officers actively patrol the campus and are first responders for all emergencies.

Our Community Service Officers are available to provide vehicle lock out and battery jump services, as well as safety escorts around the campus. Please put the Police Department number in your cell phone, so that we can respond to assist you while you are on campus.

Through community partnerships, we provide a safe and secure learning environment to the campus community by maintaining a pro-active approach to crime prevention and problem solving; enabling our students the ability to obtain a quality education. The Department works in conjunction with local, county, state and federal agencies; in order to accomplish our mission of safety.

The Department pledges to respond to the changing needs of the Palomar College environment using the Community Oriented Policing concept. Thus, always providing a customer service atmosphere to our students, faculty, staff and visitors as our primary concern.

While instilling the philosophy of honesty, integrity, morals, values, dedication, excellence and loyalty to the officers’ that serve the campus community; these efforts maintain our driving force of delivering the highest level of professionalism. The officers’ are motivated by customer service and enjoy the rich diversity of serving our campus community. The Department motto is: “Educational Excellence.”

A truly safe campus is achieved through cooperation of students, faculty, staff and visitors. Please report any suspicious behavior or activity to our Dispatch center 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year long. There is always an officer on-duty who will respond to calls for assistance.
