Transportation – Vehicle Returns

The driver must return the Palomar College Fleet Vehicle to the Facilities Yard as scheduled.  If the return time is delayed, please contact the Facilities Office and notify us of the change in plans. When returning vehicles, please park and lock the vehicle, record the beginning and ending odometer reading, sign and date the Vehicle Operator Trip Ticket Form and bring the keys into the office, including any fuel receipts.  If the office is closed, place the keys, credit card, trip ticket request form and any receipts in the trip ticket packet and leave in the drop box.

  • Return time must be followed closely to insure that each vehicle will be available for the next scheduled user. 
  • Please be courteous to the next driver and fill the gas tank before returning the vehicle.  The closest station to Palomar College is located at the corner of West Mission Road and North Las Posas Road (San Marcos Chevron, 760/752-7089).
  • All debris is to be removed and placed in the nearby receptacle in the Facilities Yard (Loading Dock area).  Failure to return vehicle in clean condition will result in a fine/penalty being assessed
  • Trip tickets require accurate recording of departure and ending mileage in order to correctly charge the costs.
  • Please remember to turn off the interior lights inside the vehicle.  Failure to turn off the lights drains the vehicle battery and prevents the vehicle from being utilized the next business day.

The Facilities Office should be notified immediately if any vehicles appear to be damaged, defective, or in need for repair.  Prompt reporting of these situations can prevent deterioration of the vehicles and possible injury to employees or others.
