“How Am I Driving?” Program
Palomar College fleet vehicles are clearly identified as District-owned vehicles and represent the College while operating on public roadways. Because College vehicles are highly visible, drivers are expected to operate vehicles safely, courteously, professionally, and in compliance with all traffic laws and District policies at all times.
Each College fleet vehicle displays identifying information and “How Am I Driving?” contact information, including the Facilities Office phone number, to allow members of the public to report unsafe or inappropriate driving behavior.
Reports may include information such as:
- Date and time of the incident
- Vehicle description or vehicle number
- Location of the incident
- Description of the driving behavior or concern
Complaints or reports regarding unsafe, reckless, negligent, or inappropriate vehicle operation may be reviewed by the Facilities Office in coordination with the employee’s supervisor, department leadership, Risk Management, and/or Environmental Health and Safety, as appropriate.
Unsafe driving behavior, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, or failure to comply with traffic laws and District policies may result in corrective action, suspension or revocation of driving privileges, disciplinary action, and/or additional driver training requirements.
All drivers operating Palomar College vehicles are expected to exercise safe driving practices and obey all applicable federal, state, and local traffic laws.
