Transportation – Exempt Vehicles

Vehicles owned or leased by the U.S. Government, state agencies, cities and counties, or special districts. DMV will no longer issue diamond and octagon designations when current supplies are exhausted, although both will remain valid. Exempt state plates are placed on vehicles owned or leased by the state. The alpha-numeric series on the diamond exempt plate may contain up to six numeric digits.
