Transportation – Cell Phone Usage

The use of cell phones, including hands-free phones, is strictly prohibited while driving an Palomar College fleet vehicle (using a hand-held cell phone while driving a vehicle in California is illegal and subject to a fine).

The new Wireless Communications Device Law (effective, January 1, 2009) makes it an infraction to write, send, or read text-based communication on an electronic wireless communications device, such as a cell phone, while driving a motor vehicle.

Drivers are responsible for payment of any citations, fines or tickets received while operating an Palomar College fleet vehicle.
