Key and Card Access – Assignments

All Divisional, Department Chairpersons and Directors or their authorized representative (must be a full-time employee of the college) are the only persons authorized to request office keys/cards and restricted classrooms for members of the campus community.  The authorized requestors and their delegates are responsible for ensuring that keys/cards are only requested for persons needing access and meeting departmental criteria for access.

Requests for keys/cards are made to the Facilities Office through the Key/Card Access Request Form process.  Individuals requesting keys/cards should identify the rooms and spaces that require access. Please reference the Palomar College Restricted/Unrestricted Classrooms Listing.  At the bottom of the screen, you will see a reference to “Listing of Restricted/Unrestricted Classrooms,” click on that selection and you will be asked to type in your “full email address as your username” and password.

Please contact the Facilities Office at extension 2629, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. if you experience any difficulty accessing this link.

Key/Card Access request forms must be completed in its entirety and include the signature of the Department Chair/Director and the Dean or Divisional Vice President.  Any items not complete will result in returning your request for proper information/authorization.

All faculty and staff are responsible for maintaining building security.  A key/card holder is responsible for all keys/cards issued to them.  The holder of keys/cards to any District facility assumes responsibility for the safekeeping of the key/card and its use.  When leaving a campus area or building ensure that all doors are secured as they were upon arrival.  Protect your keys/cards against loss, theft, or unauthorized use.

Volunteers

Palomar Community College District volunteers are considered unpaid employees, therefore they are not authorized to request or receive keys/cards to District buildings.
