About the Facilities Office

The Facilities Department offers a wide range of facilities-related services ranging from grounds maintenance to major construction projects. Our primary role is to provide safe and comfortable learning/work environments for the College community.

A diverse set of work skills are essential to providing services for the over 250 acres of land. Total gross square footage is 698, 425. Student learning is supported in 31 permanent buildings and 30 modular buildings on the San Marcos campus which includes 18 parking lots, athletic facilities (including a shared use Wellness Center), a theater, and an arboretum. The facilities at the Escondido Center consist of three (3) permanent buildings with gross square footage of 78,477 on eight (8) acres of land in eastern Escondido.

The campus is served by approximately 70 staff working through the Facilities Department to provide the following services: planning, design and implementation of construction and renovation projects; space management, emergency repairs, facilities maintenance, preventative maintenance, cleaning services, grounds and landscaping services, environmental health and safety, inventory control, key control and transportation.
