Palomar College offers a Flex Week prior to the Fall and Spring Semesters, with a designated day All College Day (traditionally named Plenary) of College Updates, DEIAA sessions, and department/division/constituency group meetings. Both Fall and Spring offer a plethora of trainings, capped off with a day filled with information and updates about Palomar and the new semester.
These weeks within our academic calendar are dedicated to employee learning and are just one example of the many professional development training opportunities that occur throughout the year.
Fall 2024 Flex Week (August 19-23) will be upon us sooner than we think. We will have a variety of trainings that are being designed that will be offered Monday-Thursday in HyFlex, Zoom, or our Come Together (In-Person Only) modalities. These offer greater equity and accessibility across our campuses for the benefit of our employees.
The All College Day Updates and our DEIAA focused work, as well as various department/division/constituency group meetings, will take place on during this week and will engage with the following schedule either via our Come Together (In-Person Only), HyFlex, or Zoom modalities:
07:30 – 09:00 am: Meet and Greet with Breakfast (Come Together)
09:00 – 11:50 am: All-College Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Antiracism (DEIAA) & Updates from College Leadership (Come Together)
12:00 – 01:00 pm: Lunch (Come Together)
01:15 – 02:15 pm: PFF/Senate and CCE Meetings (Varies)
02:30 – 03:45 pm: Division Meetings (Varies)
04:00 – 05:00 pm: Department Meetings (Varies)
We look forward to having you join us and if you would like to present a training during Flex Week (August 19-22) or schedule a Division or Department Meeting on August 23 (Friday), then please check back for an updated Request to Present a Workshop/Meeting.
All workshops and sessions will be held either HyFlex (in-person with a Zoom option),via Zoom, or in our Come Together modalities. The modality is noted in the schedule and with your registration invites from the Portal. Check back frequently for new updates and additions. There are a few exceptions where a “Come To” event will be held, which will be entirely in person.
