What is Federal Work Study?

The Federal Work-Study Program is a Federal Financial Aid Program offered at Palomar College.  Students must apply and be eligible before starting employment.  The award is earned through part-time employment on campus.  The federal government funds 100%

How do students apply?

The program is need-based.  Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year and answer yes to the Federal Work-Study question on the form to be considered for the program.  There is no guarantee that a student will continue to receive work-study awards from one year to the next.   Students should complete the application process early to be considered.  FWS funds are limited. Students may hold only ONE Federal Work Study job at a time.

The Job Openings listed here are intended only for students who have been notified that they have been awarded FWS funds.  If you were not awarded FWS and want to be considered for the program, please email work study at the address below or fill out a message transmittal at the financial aid office asking to be placed on the wait list.  Wait list requests will be accepted beginning every July .
