Intended to prepare you for immediate work opportunities or to add skills to your resume. Only coursework for the major is required. This is the shortest program with various unit requirements depending on the discipline.

Pathways to Transfer to a 4-year University
ADTs, also called AA-T and AS-T, are intended for students who want the option to transfer to various CSUs while following a uniform set of coursework. Requires a minimum of 60 units of coursework numbered 100 and higher. Limited degree options.

Transferring to a California public university CSU, UC requires a minimum 60 transferable consisting of general education and major preparation requirements.
General Education (also known as “GEs”) are lower division coursework required transfer to a public 4-year university.
- For students who plan to transfer to a California State University (CSU), please refer to CSUGE.
- For students who plan to transfer to either a California State University (CSU) OR University of California (UC), please refer to IGETC.

Some private and out-of-state universities will accept General Education (IGETC or CSU GE) in lieu of the campus specific requirements. Others do not. See a counselor for assistance with general education requirements.
Start by taking General Education (also known as “GEs”) courses. These courses will apply towards graduation requirements for an associate degree and/or towards lower division requirements for transfer.
