In order to ensure that the information that PFF and the District has is current, accurate, and thorough, we are asking ALL departments with outstanding or new class cap change requests to collaborate with their department colleagues and submit the requests for class cap changes using the form below.
Deadline: February 17, 2025. Any requests received after February 17, 2025 will be considered for negotiations in the next cycle.
The standard course maximum is 42 for lecture classes. The District and PFF recognize that there may be needs for smaller course sizes, below are some of the criteria that may justify an exception to the standard course maximum:
- Specialized equipment (hands-on) – Course requires unique equipment that is tied to student learning outcomes
- Safety/Supervision concerns – Safety/Supervision ratios for operation regardless of room size (ex: Field Experience)
- Performance/Presentation lecture – Where the length of time to evaluate performance or presentations impacts the COR
- Cohort/Team/Placement Limitations – The team/cohort is required to move through classes together or it is required as part of accreditation/program/sport or limited placements are available due to course structure/placement agencies.
- Writing Intensive (based on COR) – Teaching writing explicitly as outlined in the COR
- Outside Agency/Accreditation – Requirement as outlined by an agency or for accreditation
