How to Prepare for Your Counseling Appointment

  • You will receive a confirmation and reminder of your counseling appointment via your Palomar email and text message after scheduling your appointment. 
  • (Phone Appointments) You must be ready to answer your phone at your scheduled time. You may receive a call from a number that is blocked. It is your counselor calling, please accept the call. Phone appointments should not be conducted while driving.
  • Students with disabilities who may need accommodations for their counseling appointment are encouraged to contact the counseling front desk to make arrangements with the Disability Resource Center (DRC).  For more information regarding accommodations, you may contact DRC at 760-593-7230 or visit the DRC website.
  • If you have transcripts outside of Palomar College, make sure your transcripts are on file by contacting Records/Transcript Office (760) 744-1150 ext. 2169 or email your unofficial transcripts to your Counselor 2-days before your appointment

How to Prepare for Your ONLINE (ZOOM) Counseling Appointment

Before your appointment

  • Check your Palomar College student email and look for your appointment Zoom link. A Zoom link was emailed to your Palomar email from noreply@palomar.edu after scheduling your appointment. Watch this quick video on how to look for your Zoom link in you Palomar College student email. If you did not receive your Zoom link, please contact the Counseling Department at (760) 891-7511 for assistance.
  • Please review these videos on how to navigate Zoom:
  • If you have transcripts outside of Palomar College, make sure your transcripts are on file by contacting Records/Transcript Office (760) 744-1150 ext. 2169 or email your unofficial transcripts to your Counselor 2-days before your appointment.

15-minutes prior to your appointment

  • Have your appointment Zoom link ready. A Zoom link was emailed to your Palomar email from noreply@palomar.edu after scheduling your appointment. Watch this quick video on how to look for your Zoom link in you Palomar College student email.
  • To start your meeting, select the Zoom link and wait for your counseling session to begin
