Financial Opportunities for Students!

For Students Currently Working in Childcare
Stipend Application Due April 15

If you live in San Diego County and have worked in the childcare industry for the past 9 months, you may qualify for free money!

Thanks to a partnership with the San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Agency, we are offering a retention stipend for eligible child care providers in San Diego County. Eligibility criteria includes: Reside in San Diego County Continuous nine month employment in child care industry, directly working with children Participate in the completion of a professional development/growth plan Completion of all required tasks  Applications must be submitted through the Workforce Registry. K-16 Collaborative Border Region Talent Pipeline

Students are paid $20/hour for up to 290 hours in local elementary, middle and high schools for the 2024-2025 School Year!

Undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in K-12 Education are encouraged to apply to the K-16 Collaborative Education Work Experience Program:
 

Placements are available with local K-12 educational agencies (LEAs) throughout San Diego and Imperial counties at elementary, middle and high school sites.
Students are paid $20/hour for up to 290 hours (includes training and ongoing support).
The student application window will be open from March 11th to April 14, 2024 (extended). Interviews will take place in May 2024. Training is scheduled for late August 2024, with the on-site work experience taking place over the course of the 24-25 school year.



In Spring 2024, we are offering face-to-face, Hyflex, and online courses.  We have many options for classes at the Fallbrook and Escondido Education Centers, in addition to San Marcos’ main campus!

ESL Support for Child Development

Free ESL Tutoring is available for all Palomar College students! ESL Tutors can offer support in writing, reading, grammar, pronunciation and conversation practice for any Palomar College class. Support is also available for learning how to use Canvas, MyPalomar, email, and more!
