Faculty Resources: Equipment Resources and IS Help

Equipment

Please notify us in advance if you reserve any needed equipment. Available equipment and supplies: laptops, mobile projectors, whiteboard markers, erasers, and whiteboard cleaner.  For students, we have scantrons, green books, pencils, backpacks, and calculators.

To use our copy machine in the center, you will just need your department copy code that you can obtain from your department’s ADA.

A scantron grader is also available in the central office.

Signing into a Computer

The first time you sign into a computer, you must connect to the Palomar College server. Use your faculty login to sign into the computer (this may take a few moments). Once you’ve logged in, you aren’t required to reconnect to access your computer profile.

Printing

To print, we recommend using a USB thumb drive at the office Konica printer. Enter your department’s five-digit print code at the printer, then insert your USB into the external port on the righthand side of the printer. On the screen, a file with your external memory files will pop up. You may then select the file from which you wish to print.

If you sign into one of the desktop computers or connect to the Palomar College Server, you’ll be able to print your course material using your department print code. HOWEVER unless you change the printer settings this will print at your department or defaulted printer location. The printer at Camp Pendleton is named CP110KLP01.

To change you print location, click the “Start” icon at the bottom right and then select “Devices and Printers.” Select add new device. Add CP110KLP01.

Internet Access

Most classrooms on base do not have internet access.  If your classroom is in Building 1331 or 1101, you will have access to wi-fi in the building.  Hotspots will be available for you to check out from IS on a first come first serve basis.

Request for equipment must be completed by your direct Supervisor, Manager, Director, and/or Dean through the Technology Equipment Removal Form.

Unless toldotherwise, please do not access the internet through military computers or data lines. We are not permitted to use them for security purposes.

Information Services Help

The IS Help Desk serves as the first point of contact for technical services or support for computers, audio-visual and peripheral equipment, network services, software applications and access to District technology resources. Please keep in mind that most technical issues may not be able to be fixed by our IS department immediately because we do not have technical staff on site, and we may need to address the issues after your class as soon as possible.
