Lost Items

Fines for lost items start at $50 ($15 for media items), plus a $10 processing fee.

Damaged Items:

If an item is damaged beyond repair and has to be withdrawn from the collection, you will be charged for the replacement cost of the item, plus a $10 processing fee. Examples of damage beyond repair would be:

• missing or extensively torn pages
• severe water, mold, fire, or smoke damage
• damaged CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, or electronic media that cannot be played or repaired
• any other damage that prevents reasonable repair

How to Make a Payment

Fee payments for lost items $20 or less may be made at any Library Public Services desks (San Marcos, x2614; Escondido, x8113; Fallbrook, x8679; Rancho Bernardo, x6618).

Fees for items that are over $20 must be paid online using a credit card.
