Things to Keep in Mind
Consider the following things before you begin mapping out your courses:
- 12 units or more is full-time – Good for students who work 20 hours/week or less. If you work 30 hours/week, consider taking 9 units or less. If you work 40 or more hours/week, consider taking 6 units or less.
- General Education: Use the online general education advising guides which are hyperlinked to the online catalog with course descriptions.
- Major Coursework: Look at the requirements for an AA degree major or use www.ASSIST.org for CSU or UC majors. See more Articulation Agreements for private and out-of-states universities.
- View the Education Plan Examples for ideas for your first semester.
