Early Childhood Education Lab School (ECELS) Observation Guidelines

Our Palomar College Early Childhood Education Lab Schools serve as a practical student learning environment for our students. We have two centers- one at the Palomar San Marcos Main Campus serving children 6 months – 5 years old, and one at the Palomar Escondido Education Center serving children 3-5 years old. Both centers are open Monday through Friday, 7:30am -5:30 pm

All Child Development (CHDV) students are welcome to observe and complete class assignments at either center. You do not need to call in advance or make an appointment to observe at the San Marcos lab school (just come before or after naptime, which is 12:00 pm -2:30 pm).

The center’s number one priority is the safety of all children, family members, and staff. For that reason, there are some guidelines and procedures to follow.
