Professor Brenda O’Day

Brenda O’Day’s educational background includes both undergraduate and graduate degrees from San Diego State University and a Dietetic Internship at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has been a Registered Dietitian since 1990 and is currently working in clinical nutrition for Sharp Healthcare. For the past 15 years, she has been an advanced practitioner for critical care. She authored and co-authored several evidence-based practice projects and posters, including an Abstract of Distinction during ASPEN’s 2007 Nutrition Week. Brenda also received an award from The California Dietetic Association for Excellence in Clinical Nutrition Practice.

Brenda also teaches practical aspects of nutrition therapy to students in the undergraduate program at San Diego State University and has mentored and lectured for several dietetic internship programs. She also received an award for Outstanding Dietetic Preceptor from San Diego State University.

Brenda has been actively involved in the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, San Diego district and is currently the president-elect for the local district.
