The Artwork Archive blog recently published an article that talks about the benefits of thinking like an emerging artist. There is a link to the article below. Emerging artists which are people at the beginning of their art careers, can often be students. Emerging artists look for opportunities to showcase their work, have freedom, and do not shy away from experimentation. The article offers some strategies and advice on moving ahead with your passion for art, has links some art resources, and its worth the read.

Palomar Alumna Gallery Exhibit Announcement
Charity Algarme was born in Los Angeles and lives in San Diego, California. Often using found relics combined with objects made from everyday materials, Algarme creates artworks that explore the intersection of where the known meets the unknown.
You can view her show online
or in person at the gallery 4184 Adams Ave, SD 92116. The artist recommends viewing the work after dark when there is less glare in the windows.
Charity said this about her time at Palomar “Palomar many years ago, where I did my general studies, and then took a long break in between to raise my daughter as a single parent, before continuing on full time at UCSD to major in studio art and minor in art history. I’ve always been proud of my roots at Palomar, where I was fortunate to encounter some very exceptional instructors. I don’t know if you are familiar with Roy Rogers, but he had a pretty big impact on me back in the day. He was actually a true mentor to me- something that continues to be a rare thing in this day and age, when many working artists and academics are spread fairly thin.”
Be sure to check out her show either virtually or in-person!

One of the best places to begin looking for virtual museum tours and looking at art online is by exploring the Google Arts and Culture Initiative.
