Skillshop: Understanding Depression & Suicide

September is Suicide Prevention Month

The Student Wellness Advocacy Group (SWAG) invites you to learn about some of the triggers and risk factors associated with Depression and Suicide. We will teach you prevention and coping strategies along with tools to help someone in crisis. Walk away with resources available to you so you can take care of your mental health!

Film Screening & Mental Health Forum

September is Suicide Prevention Month

On Wednesday, September 11th, Behavioral Health Counseling Services is partnering with the Suicide Prevention Council of San Diego County to host a short film screening on the topic of suicide prevention at the Howard Brubeck Theatre on the San Marcos campus featuring true stories of prevention, healing and survival. Following the film screening, we’ll have a panel of students and mental health professionals as well as a resource fair with community partners.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided.

Suicide Prevention Event

September is Suicide Prevention Month

Palomar College Behavioral Health Counseling Services is hosting an event on World Suicide Prevention Day in the Student Union and Quad area of the San Marcos campus on Tuesday, September 10th from 10:30am to 2:00pm.  This event is in partnership with TrueCare Community Clinic and will include a food truck, keynote and guest speakers, a dedication from the IMALIVE Fair that we hosted in May 2024, and a resource fair that highlights all the great resources we have for students on campus.
