How do Cooperative Education Classes Work?

Cooperative Education classes consist of the following components:

  • Orientation: you will learn about course requirements and set 3 learning objectives that you will work on during the semester. Your supervisor and Cooperative Education instructor will provide feedback and approve your learning objectives.
  • Monthly discussion posts and career readiness assignments: you will submit brief monthly reports describing progress on objectives, responding to reflection questions, documenting hours worked on a time sheet, and sharpening some of your employability skills.
  • Job site visit: The instructor conducts a job site visit with your supervisor at the student work site. Student attendance is optional but encouraged.
  • Final interview: Each student attends a final interview with the Coop Ed Instructor. The supervisor does not attend.

Students must complete a minimum 54 supervised hours of employment or internship for each unit of enrollment.
