How do Cooperative Education Classes Work?

Cooperative Education classes consist of the following components:

  • Orientation: you will learn about course requirements and set 3 learning objectives that you will work on during the semester. Your supervisor and Cooperative Education instructor will provide feedback and approve your learning objectives.
  • Monthly discussion posts: you will submit brief monthly reports describing progress on objectives, responding to reflection questions, and documenting hours worked on a timesheet.
  • Job site visit: The instructor conducts a job site visit with your supervisor at the student work site. Student attendance is optional but encouraged.
  • Final interview: Each student attends a final interview with the Coop Ed Instructor. The supervisor does not attend.

The number of credits you will earn depends on the number of hours you complete during the semester.

Paid Positions: Students must complete a minimum 75 paid hours for each unit of enrollment.
