Greetings Scholars.

I have traveled over mountains and through pebble-strewn fields to get to where I am today. Through my journey, I have found that our own life experiences bring us our biggest strengths and accomplishments.

After having my son, I gave up my career as a marketing director to pursue the field of education. I ran a home daycare before we both went on to preschool. During this time, I obtained my multiple subject teaching credential from CSUSM where we both continued the journey and went on to elementary school. He has since moved on to being a young adult pursuing his own passion, however, I remain in the classroom and find great joy in the early childhood years and helping to guide future educators. One of my greatest challenges and accomplishments was earning a master’s degree from Pacific Oaks, to be with you here today.

I have engaged with students of all ages for over 20 years. Although I am fairly new to Palomar College, I have worked within the Community College District in a variety of capacities since 2014. I continue to be a student, a mentor teacher and professional growth advisor for the state of California, a classroom presenter, a child development instructor, and most recently a toddler teacher in a local lab school. I strive to provide online educational resources to all students at a zero cost. I pride myself on early intervention, open communication, and using public assistance to its full potential. I am a strong advocate of early childhood education and raising the level of professionalism for both those working in the field and for those we serve. An effective teacher never stops learning and therefore never stops growing.

To find balance, I enjoy the California lifestyle of long days at the beach, paddleboarding in the harbor, and bike rides along the shore. I love baseball, going to concerts, sitting down with a good book, Mexican food, and laughing with friends and family. I’m certainly looking forward to enjoying all of this again soon!

May the path we share be guided by collaboration and shared insight. I’m looking forward to learning with you soon.
