The Academic Technology Resource Center labs are intended for the academic use of currently registered students. Use of the computers is restricted by login. If you are not an actively enrolled student please use the library computers on the first floor of the LRC.
Use your Palomar email address as your username and your MyPalomar password. If you have forgotten your password go to the MyPalomar web site and reset it using your reminder question. If you have also forgotten your reminder question, call enrollment services at (760) 744-1150 ext. 2164.
We recommend saving your work on a USB flash drive. You can email a copy to yourself with a web mail client. You could also save to the cloud if you have an account with Microsoft OneDrive, DropBox, Box, or some other cloud storage provider. Work cannot be saved on the lab workstations. Each time they are rebooted all data saved to them is lost.
There is no charge for using the computers. However, please note that there is a charge for printing from the lab computers. The charge for printing in black & white is 10 cents per page. The charge for printing in color is 30 cents per page.
All of the computers in the lab are Dell computers running Windows 10. There are no Apple computers available in the lab.
No.
The lab tends to be filled during the middle of the day (from about 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.). If possible, try to avoid dropping by the lab at these times, as you will most likely be required to wait in line to use the lab.
You can call us at (760) 744-1150 ext. 2657. You may also come into the lab, or e-mail atrc@palomar.edu from your Palomar email address.
There are no provisions for individual students to reserve time in the lab. If you need to use the lab and are concerned about lab availability, call us at (760) 744-1150 ext. 2657.
If you are an instructor or an administrative department representative, you may reserve one-time events in the lab. To reserve time for your class or departmental event, either call the lab at extension 2657 or come into the lab in person and ask to speak with the lab manager, or email one of our lab managers (mvalencia@palomar.edu or bchan@palomar.edu) with your request. All classes should be reserved at least one week in advance, and the lab is available on a first-come-first-served basis. It is not unusual for classes to reserve time more than a year in advance, so if you know when you will want to be in the lab, contact us as soon as possible. Please remember that your class should not be considered reserved until you have received confirmation from one of the lab managers.
Details on this may be found on the Lab Software Installation page.
