The College Outcomes, the General Education/Institutional Learning Outcomes (GEILOs), listed below represent a set of abilities and qualities desired of students earning either a degree or certificate from Palomar College. This page provides definitions and rubrics for each outcome as well as teaching resources for Palomar instructors. Each year, the College assesses student progress in achieving these outcomes, by focusing on two outcomes each semester. Definitions for each GEILO are listed in the table below, along with rubrics to evaluation each outcome. Each rubric lists a set of dimensions to consider when mapping your courses to the Institutional Learning Outcome. Faculty, please use this document to align course and program SLOs to the College’s GEILOs.
