Employees, Community, and Communication Council

Purpose

The Employees, Community, and Communication Council is dedicated to cultivating, building, and sustaining a community of inclusivity that creates a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment for all to thrive. With a holistic view of the human experience at Palomar College, the Council pays particular attention to the opportunities inherent in recognizing and cultivating the interconnections between all of the College’s diverse communities and constituent groups.

Meeting Days/Time

The Employees, Community, and Communication Council meets on 1st and 3rd Fridays from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Council Goals 2022-23

  1. Proactively disseminate the activities of the ECCC to the campus community through integrated and inclusive communication strategies. 
  2. Be aware of and adhere to timelines for the review and processing of AP/BPs. 
    • Solicit and consider feedback from the campus community. 
    • Provide guidelines to reviewers on how to ensure the incorporation of DEIAA competencies. 
  3. Monitor the development of the staffing plan, provide feedback, and ensure the incorporation of DEIAA principles. 
  4. Support and contribute to an inclusive and connected college-wide culture and climate. 
    • Assess current barriers to inclusion through investment in an institutional climate survey. 
    • Strategically propose actionable initiatives from the campus climate survey results with recommendations for implementation.
