How CPL works

Your Marine Corps or Navy career-level (E-5 & above) Professional Military Education (PME) and training is evaluated and matched to Palomar College coursework in Military Leadership. Through Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), eligible veterans can earn up to 12 units required for the Certificate of Achievement in Military Leadership or the Certificate of Achievement in Military Training & Development.

After petitioning for CPL, you will be connected to our Cooperative Education department to help you complete the work experience requirement through Cooperative Education CE 100 – a flexible option built for veterans.

Your units can also be applied towards the Associate of Science in Military Leadership or the Associate of Science in Military Training & Development.

Once your CPL units and work experience are complete, submit a graduation petition to receive your Certificate of Achievement in Military Leadership or Military Training & Development.
