How do Cooperative Education Classes Work?

Cooperative Education classes consist of the following components:

Orientation

Students will learn about course requirements and set 3 learning objectives that you will work on during the semester. Your supervisor and Cooperative Education instructor will provide feedback and approve your learning objectives.

Monthly discussion posts and career readiness assignments

Students will submit brief monthly reports describing progress on objectives, responding to reflection questions, documenting hours worked on a time sheet, and sharpening some of your employment skills.

Job site visit

The instructor conducts a job site visit with your supervisor at the student work site. Student attendance is optional but encouraged.

Final interview

Each student attends a final interview with the Coop Ed Instructor. The supervisor may attend this meeting, depending on instructor discretion.

Students must complete a minimum 54 supervised hours of employment or internship for each unit of enrollment.
