Group 1
Italian for Beginners, and Non-Heritage Speakers of Italian
Students who are learning Italian for the first time, Adult learners of Italian, Second-language learners of Italian, Non-native speakers of Italian. Students who did not speak Italian in their childhood.
- Students who have not taken any college-level course work in Italian. OR
Students who completed one (1) year of high-school Italian and earned a C or better.
Your placement is:
Italian 101
- Students who have earned a C or better in first-semester Italian in college. OR
Students who completed two (2) years of high-school Italian and earned a C or better.
Your placement is:
Italian 102
- Students who have earned a C or better in second-semester Italian in college. OR
Students who completed three (3) years of high-school Italian and earned a C or better.
Your placement is:
Italian 201
- Students who have earned a C or better in third-semester Italian in college. OR
Students who completed four (4) years of high-school Italian and earned a C or better.
Your placement is:
Italian 202
Group 2
Advanced Placement Exams
Students who taken the Advanced Placement (AP) Exam in Italian and received a score of 3 or higher.
- For students who have taken the AP Exam called “Italian Language and Culture” and earned a score of 3 or higher.
