DBA  298  Broadcast Internship  (1.0 – 3.0 Units) 

Hours: Required number of hours worked in the field varies on the number of units taken. 1 Unit – 60 hours, 2 Units – 120 hours, 3 Units – 180 hours. 

Typically Offered – Fall/Spring/Summer

Recommended Preparation – This should be the last course taken in your degree path. The idea of an internship is to apply the skills and lessons learned in the classroom to a real-world experience at thee job site of your choosing.

Catalog Description:

Broadcast internships at radio and television stations, Palomar College TV and KKSM radio, and video/film production facilities. Prior internship experience not required; assumes entry-level skills and production experience. May involve entry-level work on independent productions including research, scripting, and pre-production planning. Sixty hours is required for each credit unit in an unpaid internship, and seventy-five hours is required for each credit unit in a paid internship.

You seek out and find your own internship and enroll in the course. You will be required to work with our internship coordinator on the completion of some minor paperwork and certify the number of hours worked in the field.
