Associate in Arts for Transfer Degree in Philosophy
The Associate in Arts for Transfer degree in Philosophy prepares students for transfer while introducing them to central areas of philosophical study, including logic, ethics, the history of philosophy, social and political philosophy, religion, human nature, and literature.
To complete the major preparation for the degree, students complete 18 units of philosophy coursework. The degree includes one required logic course, one introductory philosophy or ethics course, and additional courses selected from the lists below.
Required Courses
Students must complete PHIL 116: Introduction to Logic.
Students must also complete one of the following courses:
- PHIL 111: Introduction to Philosophy
- PHIL 121: Introduction to Ethics
