Philosophy

Welcome to Philosophy at Palomar College

Philosophy invites students to think deeply about some of the most important questions human beings ask: What can we know? What makes an action right or wrong? What is justice? What is the self? What gives life meaning? In philosophy courses, students learn to reason carefully, read challenging texts, write clearly, and engage thoughtfully with ideas that continue to shape our world.

At Palomar College, philosophy courses can help students satisfy general education requirements, prepare for transfer, strengthen critical thinking and writing skills, and explore questions about knowledge, ethics, society, religion, human nature, and the good life.
