Lockett-Seech Philosophy Scholarship

The Lockett-Seech Philosophy Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to one student each year in the spring semester. Recipients selected for this scholarship will demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding academic potential in philosophy. They will also be able to demonstrate how the study of philosophy has impacted their personal and/or professional lives.

Award Requirements:

  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Completed or currently enrolled in a philosophy class
  • At the time of disbursement (Spring), the recipient must be enrolled in at least 9 units.

To Apply:

  • Complete the form below and submit along with:
  • An unofficial transcript
  • A typed essay addressing the following prompt: “Explain how you apply philosophy learned in the classroom to your everyday life.” Your response can be up to 2 double-spaced pages. Essays will be evaluated for content, style, and writing skills.
  • Submit no later than April 1, 2024 at 5:00 PM
