Lockett-Seech Philosophy Scholarship
The Lockett-Seech Philosophy Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to one student each year in the spring semester. Recipients selected for this scholarship will demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding academic potential in philosophy. They will also be able to demonstrate how the study of philosophy has impacted their personal and/or professional lives.
Award Requirements
- 3.0 minimum GPA
- Completed or currently enrolled in a philosophy class
- At the time of disbursement (Spring), the recipient must be enrolled in at least 9 units.
How to Apply
Complete the form below and submit it along with the following materials:
- An unofficial transcript
- A typed essay addressing the following prompt: “Imagine you could win this essay contest by submitting an essay written by AI. Drawing on the work of a philosopher you have studied at Palomar, discuss the ethical implications of this choice.” The response may be up to 2 double-spaced pages. Essays will be evaluated for content, style, and writing skills.
