PACRA Board Meets New President

President/Superintendent Star Rivera-Lacey

On April 25, 2022, the PACRA Board had the pleasure of meeting Palomar’s new President/Superintendent, Star Rivera-Lacey in her office on the San Marcos Campus. Board Members attending were Bob Larson, June Rady, Becky McCluskey, M. Jayne Conway, John Erickson, and Tom Humphrey. Board members unable to attend were Judy Dolan and Cynthia Poole. Also attending was the Vice President, Human Resources, David Montoya.

During the one hour session, each PACRA Board member was given the opportunity to introduce themselves, speak briefly about their educational background and career. President Rivera-Stacey then related her personal story that led her to Palomar College, the current state of the college and her vision for the college going forward.

After introductions, PACRA co-president, June Rady, opened the discussion by asking President Rivera-Stacey how she believed PACRA could assist her in meeting her vision and goals for the college. The president responded by saying that one of her important priorities at this time was to deal with the declining enrollment and that anything PACRA could do to help in that regard would be very helpful. The remainder of the meeting was devoted to discussing this issue. The PACRA Board promised the president that it would continue the discussion at its next Board Meeting.,
