QPR is designed to give members of the general public the basic skills necessary to recognize the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. This QPR Training will be tailored for Palomar faculty and staff and is provided by MiraCosta College Mental Health Counselor, Abigail (Abby) Burd, LCSW, and Navy Veteran, Deandre Davis, MBA, who were trained as trainers by partnership with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) and the San Diego County Suicide Prevention Council.

We are requesting that you commit to attending at least the first 90 minutes of this training. An optional Q and A session will follow.
As the topic of suicide is a sensitive topic, a lot of intentionality has gone into the training. We ask that you give your full attention during the training, and that you minimize multitasking. If you ever need to step away for a self-care break, by all means, please do, but please return as soon as feels possible for you so that we know you are okay. We will conclude the training with grounding before sending you back out into your day. We will stay available for questions after as long as needed.
Register on the 3PD Portal using the link below. This training is available to Palomar College faculty and staff.
