Current instructors are experienced water and wastewater professionals and experts in the industry. Classes are built around practical examples of real-world scenarios, demonstrations and field trips to maximize understanding of the subject matter.

Operators are trained to understand the physical, chemical, and biological process associated with water and wastewater treatment, as well as understand the complex mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation required to successfully operate and monitor the processes. Operators are also trained to respond to emergencies and ensure that proper steps are taken to protect the facilities and public health.

Tap water and wastewater are highly regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency and other state and local agencies. Operators must understand and comply with these regulations.
