Who Qualifies for TRIO Student Support Services?
- Meet one or more of the following criteria:
- First-Generation college student (Neither or parent has received a Bachelor’s degree). If either parent has obtained an Associates degree, you are still eligible as a First-Generation college student
- Registered with Palomar’s Disability Resource Center (DRC)
- Meet the income eligibility based on Federal TRIO Guidelines (Income Guidelines)
- Enrolled in 12 units or more, unless you are a part of the Disability Resource Center at Palomar College (9 units)
- Not registered with Palomar College’s EOPS program
- Demonstrate academic need as determined by the TRIO SSS program director
- Must have the desire to earn a certificate, associate’s degree, or transfer to a 4-year university
Student Responsibilities
To maintain eligibility in the program students must meet the following requirements each semester:
- Meet with the TRIO SSS academic counselor
- Attend one campus workshops
- Complete a financial literacy training
- Complete a financial aid workshop
After you submit the interest form, you will be contacted by a TRIO SSS staff member within 3-5 business days. Students who meet eligibility requirements for the program will receive a TRIO SSS application. Once the application is submitted, the screening process can take 10 to 15 business days.
