Why Take A Reading Class?

Reading offers the Palomar College community a comprehensive, developmental, and transferable reading program for students of diverse origins with different goals, needs, and abilities. The program strives to provide students with the skills necessary to foster life-long learning through the assimilation of material in the humanities, sciences and mathematics, and vocational areas.

By taking the appropriate class, based on their current reading level, students can:

  • Improve Reading Speed
  • Increase Understanding
  • Enhance Memory and Recall
  • Increase their reading enjoyment!

Students receive instruction based on intensive diagnosis and individualization. The learning process is geared toward students’ development of basic skills, critical reading skills, and effective reading skills.
