I am a first generation college student born and raised in Mexico until the age of seven when my family moved to the United States. I grew up in the Imperial Valley, and attended UCSD after High School and received two Bachelor’s degrees in Ethnic Studies and International Studies. I attended SDSU and received my Master’s in Counseling through the Community Based Block Counseling Program. I have been a counselor at Palomar College since 2016 and I am so happy to serve students as the Puente Counselor/Co-Coordinator.
I am a first generation college student with roots in Puerto Rico and New Jersey. I grew up in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Cyprus. Community College was essential in transferring me to UC Berkeley (BA English), SDSU (MFA), and UCSD (PhD English). I helped start the first Puente Project Cohort at Palomar College in 2017.
