The Help Desk is the primary contact point for students, faculty, staff, and administrators seeking technical support for computers, audio-visual equipment, peripherals, network services, software applications, and access to District technology resources. This team handles requests via phone, email, or in person, diagnosing technical issues and implementing a range of corrective measures. They also initiate work orders for the appropriate Information Services staff or contact vendors as needed, keeping requestors and relevant groups updated on the status of their issues.
Additionally, the Help Desk manages system account security and provides password assistance. The team also facilitates general announcements to various District groups and operates the institution’s switchboard, greeting callers, answering inquiries, and connecting them with the relevant District services.
