Palomar-Secure Wi-Fi

It is recommended that all staff and students connect to the “Palomar-Secure” wireless network with their @palomar.edu or @student.palomar.edu account for better security.


Listed below are some common connection setups for various different platforms:

Open your devices settings app.

Tap Network & internet and then Internet.

Tap ‘Palomar-Secure’

Enter the following settings, then tap ‘connect’:

  • Domain:palomar.edu

  • Identity:full username (username@palomar.edu or username@student.palomar.edu)

  • Password

  • Certificate: (use system certificates)

Additional settings may be present:

  • Online Certificate Status: (Do not validate)

(Note that the Domain is still palomar.edu, but your email domain needs to be student.palomar.edu, everything else stays the same.)

From your Home screen, go to Settings -> Wi-Fi.

Turn on Wi-Fi. Your device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.

Tap ‘Palomar-Secure’.

Enter full username: (username@palomar.edu or username@student.palomar.edu)

Enter password, click ‘connect.’

Trust the certificate – mywifi.palomar.edu

Enter your full username: (username@palomar.edu or username@student.palomar.edu)

Enter password, click ‘Connect.’

Trust the certificate – mywifi.palomar.edu, click ‘Continue.’

Note – If the first attempted connection fails or seems to timeout, then simply reconnect again.

Click on the Wireless Network Connection icon on the bottom right of your screen.

Select ‘Palomar-Secure’

Connect Automatically box can be checked.

Click Connect

If prompted by a “Continue Connecting?” message, click ‘Connect’.

Enter your full username: (username@palomar.edu or username@student.palomar.edu)

Enter password and click ‘OK.’

If prompted by a “Continue Connecting?” message, click ‘Connect’.

Click on the Wireless Network Connection icon on the bottom right of your screen

Select the carrot icon to see available networks.

Tap ‘Palomar-Secure’.

Enter the following settings, then tap ‘connect’:

  • Domain:palomar.edu
  • Identity:full username (username@palomar.edu or username@student.palomar.edu)
  • Password
  • Server CA Certificate: (Do not check)

In the “Identity” filed please enter your username@palomar.edu or username@student.palomar.edu witch-ever is appropriate for your account. The “Password” field should be your AD passwords.)
