Palomar College Sponsorship Guidelines

Purpose: The purpose of the Sponsorship Guidelines is to outline the principles and general procedures for engaging in sponsorships on behalf of Palomar College. This ensures all sponsorship activities align with the organizational values while fostering meaningful relationships with sponsors that support our mission and contribute positively to the community.

Definition: Sponsorship is a dynamic marketing activity where Palomar College aligns itself with an organization, program, conference, or event. This partnership is typically supported financially and provides recognition value to the College.

Guidelines:

  1. Community Based Event Sponsorship Opportunities

Palomar College attends and often sponsors events in the community as part of the Superintendent/President’s Office Strategic Community Engagement Plan. Sponsorships are tied to strategic and intentional engagement within the district. Most events and activities are paid for through the Palomar College Foundation. An annual budget is established and approved by the Palomar College Foundation Board of Directors for Community Engagement. Activities are aligned with involvement in the community, typically with a member of the leadership team serving on a board of directors for an organization. If exploring a new event sponsorship, it is recommended to reach out to the Foundation to align with historical engagement levels.

  • Conference or Other Sponsorship Opportunities

With limited funding available, any other sponsorship opportunities outside of the Strategic Community Engagement Plan should be reviewed by the coordinating department and/or the division Vice President. This would include alignment with the organization’s values and allowable funding.
