The Foundation’s mission is to remove financial barriers to ensure student’s success. One of the Foundation’s core programs is providing emergency grants, textbook assistance, and educational support to students that are experiencing financial difficulties.
If a student has received funding/laptop in previous semesters, they may not be eligible for emergency funds due to limited funding availability.

Palomar College Foundation Emergency Grant Program
We understand that unexpected emergencies can create serious obstacles to your education. The Palomar College Foundation is here to help. Our Emergency Grant Program exists to support students facing sudden financial hardships, so you can stay enrolled and continue working toward your goals without losing momentum.
Whether you’re dealing with an unexpected expense, need help accessing textbooks, or require a laptop to continue your coursework, we’re committed to helping you stay on track.
What Support is Available?
- Emergency grants, textbook assistance, and laptops
- Grant amounts: Typically between $50 and $250
- Limit: Students may receive one emergency grant per semester
- Review schedule: Requests are reviewed by committee every Tuesday
- Note: Funds are limited, and while we do our best to help every student in need, awards are not guaranteed. The number of units you’re enrolled in will be considered when reviewing your request.
How to Request Help:
Step 1: Reach out to a faculty member or college administrator and ask them to submit a referral form on your behalf.
Step 2: Once your referral is reviewed and approved, you’ll receive an email from the Foundation with a link to complete your emergency grant application.
