The San Diego Chapter American Association for Women in Community College received a national award for Chapter of the Year on October 22, 2021 during the Annual AAWCC National Conference awards ceremony. Despite the pandemic, our chapter continued to host events, empower members across Region X, and meet our chapter goals. The national AAWCC organization was impressed by what we have done, particularly, while most chapters shuttered during the pandemic. Thanks to all members of the SDCAAWCC at Palomar College for your commitment to supporting our regional chapter and representing our campus at various events and meetings. We have grown to a total of 150 members in just one year and are currently the only chapter in the State of California and we are the only chapter nationwide to have earned this distinction during our inaugural year!
