We are elated to share that the San Diego Chapter for American Association for Women in Community College received the 2021 nationwide award for Chapter of the Year! Despite the pandemic, the SDCAAWCC continues to host events, empower members across Region X, and meet our chapter goals. The national AAWCC organization was impressed by what we have done, particularly, while most chapters shuttered during the pandemic. Congratulations to Dr. Veronica Gerace our chapter president for her leadership and empowering women across Region X.

Thanks to all members of the SDCAAWCC at Palomar College for your commitment to support our regional chapter and representing our campus at various events and meetings. We have grown to a total of 150 members in just one year and are currently the only chapter in the State of California and we are the only chapter nationwide to have earned this distinction during our inaugural year! Our regional chapter will be honored on Friday, October 22, 2021 as a part of the awards ceremony during the Annual AAWCC National Conference, which will take place virtually. Our chapter vice-president, Dr. Edeama Onwuchekwa was also selected as AAWCC’s Under 40 Class of 2021! Please join us to celebrate the SDCAAWCC!
