Associate Degree for Transfer

Students earning the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science for Transfer Degree receive special legislated benefits otherwise not granted without the degree.  These benefits include:

  • A guaranteed roadmap to a CSU accepting the degree as similar
  • No more than 60 semester/90 quarter units to complete upon transfer
  • A GPA bump in competitive admission consideration to impacted campuses outside a service area or impacted major

Students who enroll or who change their major and chose an Associate Degree for Transfer (AA/AS with the goal to Transfer to a 4-year institution) need to meet with a counselor and develop an Education Plan (Ed.
