Remembrance, Redress, and Reparations: The Japanese American Story

Date and Time: Friday, May 6, 2022, 10:00 am – 11:30am

Presenters: Susan Hasegawa, Professor of History, San Diego City College; Kay Ochi, President, Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego (JAHSSD); Matt Estes, Professor of History, Palomar College

Description: The presenters will discuss the historical background of the Japanese Internment and World War II, “What happened after Camp?” lessons, activism and Congressional recommendations, and the current implications of the discussion about historical reparations.
