Palomar College offers an educational program that prepares students to become a certified addiction counselor (Alcohol and Other Drug Studies).  Did you know that if you are considering a career as a Substance Abuse Counselor, you have chosen field which has been identified by the United States Bureau of Statistics for outstanding growth projections?  The increase in employment for Substance Abuse Counselors is 24%! That is one of the highest projected growth increases of any occupation listed in the “U.S. Occupational Outlook Handbook.”

To learn more about substance abuse counseling, you are invited to watch the recording of the Alcohol and Other Drug Studies (AODS) Program Orientation.  The orientation provides an overview of the AODS AS/Certificate program, the process to become a certified counselor, along with the internship requirements and career opportunities.
