To kick off the day, our special opening keynote speaker will be Dave Burgess, author of the book Teach Like a PIRATE: Increase Student Engagement, Boost Your Creativity, and Transform Your Life as an Educator. 1. Hello! I’m currently a student at Palomar. I don’t “teach” in a school, but I do work with high school students at La Costa Canyon High School as an A.V.I.D. Tutor (this is my third year). I also teach Catholic doctrine to 5th graders at St. Mark’s on a voluntary basis. Teaching is my ultimate career goal and I’m really interested in attending the teaching conference. Can I still go even though I’m not a teacher with a credential?

    Thank you so much,

    Gabriela Perez
